LIUWA PLAIN NATIONAL PARK, SITUATED IN THE FAR WESTERN REACHES OF ZAMBIA, HAS ONE OF THE OLDEST, MOST ESTABLISHED CONSERVATION HISTORIES IN AFRICA. IN FACT, IT DATES BACK TO THE LATE 19TH CENTURY DURING WHICH TIME THE KING OF BAROTSELAND NAMED HIS TRIBE, THE LOZI PEOPLE, CUSTODIANS OF THE RESERVE.

Today, the pristine Liuwa Plain National Park is synonymous with exclusivity. Its remote location on the Barotse Floodplain calls for a fly-in safari where an all-inclusive, luxury wilderness experience fitting for celebrities awaits. Golden plains play home to wildebeest, wild dog, lion and an abundance of winged species which means birding off-the-beaten-track is well worth it. According to local Lozi legend, a certain large mutata tree in the park grew from a walking stick planted on the plains by Litunga, the king.
