Xigera lies on the lush Paradise Island in a secluded corner of the Moremi Game Reserve in a permanently flooded section of the Okavango Delta. The region is a labyrinth of waterways that comprise the world’s largest inland delta, dotted by islands brimming with riverine forests, ancient baobabs and jackalberry trees – elephants’ delight.

Explore the waterways, renowned as a rich birding area, on a delightful mokoro or modern motorboat. Xigera has luxury raised safari tents (including a family unit) built in a pleasing blend of wood and canvas and are designed with wooden decks opening up to views of a seasonal floodplain and the lagoon. The spaciously inviting lounge and dining area overlooks a permanently flowing channel. The camp boasts a unique “newspaper” (a sand pit built into the bridge to capture paw prints) that shows traces of the previous night’s unseen visiting wildlife.

Aware of the lightest footprint, Xigera relies on solar energy and demonstrates a commitment to conservation and sustainability. Countless activities await, from relaxing by the plunge pool on hot days, to game drives, mokoro rides, boat trips, nature walks, fishing and birding. Leopard and lion sightings are frequent, and hyena, wild dog, buffalo, elephant make an appearance in this area that is famous for having the highest density of the elusive sitatunga antelope in the Delta. The Xigera Lagoon offers the unique opportunity to get your feet wet and enjoy a swim in the Delta.
