Its rare beauty has an almost dreamlike quality placing visitors somewhere between heaven and earth. It’s impossible not to instantly connect with the romance of the setting (used for some scenes of the Out of Africa movie). All 30 luxury tented suites (over 100 sqm each, including spacious wooden decks) have equally impressive Rift Valley views. The roof and three sides comprise classic olive canvas, complemented by romantic cream interiors. Glass frontage, however, ensures that pleasing vistas can be soaked up from the bath, shower, bed and sitting area.

The sole-use mobile tented Safari Camp only sleeps eight guests in four lovely en-suite tents deep in a remote wilderness area of the south-western Mara Triangle. One’s stay includes a dedicated safari vehicle and guide for private safaris as well as a Safari Camp team customising each day’s programme to guests preferences.

A private road leading directly into the Reserve (a mere 10-minute drive away) means unrivalled exclusivity to the 700-hectare site bordering the Mara Triangle, with 1.2 km Rift Valley frontage, its own forests and prolific wildlife. Vast grasslands dotted with acacias are home to abundant herds and Africa’s Big Five; more animals than one could imagine.

Walking safaris are tailor-made with every fitness level in mind. Picnic baskets, blankets, or even a lift back to the lodge can be arranged. Of course, floating over the reserve in a hot air balloon is a completely contrasting iconic option as well.
