Lower Zambezi National Park – Zambia
CHONGWE RIVER HOUSE IS A TRULY EXCLUSIVE (NO MORE THAN 8 PEOPLE AT ONE TIME) SAFARI HOME SITUATED ON THE BANKS OF THE CHONGWE RIVER WITH SENSATIONAL VIEWS OF THE DRAMATIC ESCARPMENT BEYOND. FOLLOWING THE NATURAL LINES OF THE RIVERBANK, CHONGWE’S AWARD-WINNING DESIGN WAS INSPIRED BY THE TOWERING SHAPES OF TERMITE HILLS AND BLENDS PERFECTLY INTO ITS SETTING.
Nature has been brought into the house, with tree trunks, lianas and branches incorporated into the main guest areas and softly coloured pebbles from the Chongwe River set into the ceilings. It’s a perfect African paradise for families and friends with a large pool, open living areas, hand-carved furniture, waterfall showers, private open-air bathtubs, and dedicated staff and safari guiding team. The Chongwe area is famous for large elephants who frequently wander through the camp or cross the river in front of the house. A wealth of land and water-based activities include day & night drives, walking safaris, boat cruises, canoe safaris, tiger fishing, sleepout under the stars and access to a wildlife hide.
