KING LEWANIKA CAMP IS THE FIRST PERMANENT CAMP IN THE REMOTE, EXCLUSIVE AND UNTOUCHED LIUWA PLAIN NATIONAL PARK. THE PARK IS HOME TO WILD DOG, THE FAMOUS LIUWA LION PRIDE AND THE SECOND LARGEST WILDEBEEST MIGRATION ON EARTH. EXTRAORDINARY BIRDING & WILDFLOWER SEASON ADD TO THE UNDENIABLE CHARM.
Day and night game drives, seasonal canoeing and fishing, walking safaris and sleepouts under the stars are all on offer at this spectacular park. Liuwa Plain, one of the oldest conservation areas in Africa, was first protected in the early 1880s by the king of the Lozi people, King Lewanika. At the end of the rainy season in March or April, guests may have the opportunity to see the ancient Kuomboka ceremony of the Lozi people. The journey is a pleasure to watch, as the royal barge with the large model elephant on the top passes through the park.
