THIS CHARMING CLASSIC WILDERNESS-STYLE CAMP, WITH ONLY 8 LUXURY TENTS, IS SITUATED IN THE PRIVATE ONGAVA GAME RESERVE, BORDERING THE ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK. SURROUNDED BY AFRICAN MOPANI BUSH, THIS CAMP IS A NATURAL EXTENSION OF THIS WILD AND WONDERFUL LANDSCAPE AND IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF LITTLE ONGAVE, ITS SIBLING.

Set in the 30,000-hectare Ongava Game Reserve (a 10-minute drive from Etosha’s gate), this camp allows guests to experience exceptional game-viewing that both Ongava and Etosha have to offer – without the large number of tourists. Each tent provides exclusivity and privacy with decks and outdoor showers. The stone-and-thatch main area includes a bar and swimming pool, and boasts a perfect view of the waterhole with its flow of wildlife. Etosha is the home of gemsbok, springbok, Damara dik-dik and black-faced impala, while Ongava is good for sightings of lion, eland, and Hartmann’s mountain zebra. Other adventures offered include guided walks, walking safaris where you track rhino with a ranger, birding and visiting hides. Ongava is proud to be one of the largest rhino custodianships in the country for the Namibian government and is one of the few private game reserves in southern Africa where guests can see both black and white rhino.
