Okonjima African Villa offers an unparalleled luxury safari experience in Damaraland’s Okonjima Nature Reserve, halfway between Windhoek and Etosha National Park. In a secluded wilderness, this four-bedroom private villa overlooks a waterhole in the folds of the majestic Omboroko Mountains. Designed to be a home away from home, the villa has two separate private suites.

Each has glass panelled doors which fold away to allow a full experience of the incredible landscape. The spacious lounge and dining area boast a large open fireplace for those cooler evenings. The fabulous infinity pool out on the deck overlooks the watering hole and is perfect for relaxation, with a massage therapist on call, between adventures. The Villa has a hostess, chef as well as guide and exclusive game drive vehicle.

Activities revolve around game viewing, particularly cheetah and leopard radio tracking on foot and by vehicle. There is a Bushman hiking trail to learn how the San people adapted to life in the wilderness and plenty of birding-watching. A highlight is a visit to the night hide to view nocturnal wildlife such as porcupines. Home to the AfriCat Foundation, Okonjima works with local farmers to conserve Namibia’s leopard and cheetah. Guests have the unique opportunity to meet and experience the AfriCat Foundation researchers at work.
